Meconet is Subcontractor of the Year 2026
The Finnish Association of Purchasing and Logistics (LOGY) has named Meconet Subcontractor of the Year 2026. The recognition was announced at the Alihankinta Subcontracting Trade Fair in Tampere, Finland, on Tuesday, 29 September 2026.
“Meconet’s ability to act as an active development partner for its customers was the deciding factor in selecting the Subcontractor of the Year,” says Janne Lehtimäki, Chair of LOGY’s Subcontracting Award Committee.
Meconet has grown strongly and steadily over the past ten years. In 2015, the company’s revenue was just over EUR 30 million, and this year it is already approaching EUR 100 million. Reaching this level has required determined business development and significant investments, while maintaining a strong focus on operational efficiency and profitability.
Growth like this cannot be taken for granted for a Finnish industrial SME. At Meconet, three factors in particular have played a key role.
1. Long-term customer relationships as the foundation
A strong and long-standing customer base has been an important foundation for Meconet’s success. The company has grown alongside its key customers and followed them into new international markets.
Building long-term customer relationships is about much more than manufacturing components. For cooperation to continue year after year, a supplier must be able to evolve, ensure quality and delivery reliability, and solve challenges as circumstances change.
“Trust in industry is built over time. When day-to-day deliveries, quality and cooperation run as smoothly as possible, it creates a strong foundation for developing new solutions together,” says Markku Kuismin, Director, Customer Relations and Sales at Meconet.
2. Entering new markets with careful selection and a clear focus
Alongside its long-term customer relationships, Meconet has expanded into new markets and sought new customers within carefully selected segments.
International growth, however, is not about pursuing as many requests for quotation as possible. In demanding contract manufacturing, even preparing a quotation requires resources from sales, engineering, sourcing and quality. This makes it essential to identify the markets and customers where Meconet’s expertise can deliver genuine added value.
A clear focus has enabled Meconet to expand internationally in a controlled manner without compromising profitability.
3. Investing in technology and expertise
The third key factor is continuous investment. Meconet has modernised its manufacturing technologies and expanded its capacity, but investing in people and developing expertise across the organisation has been equally important.
Machines can be purchased and new experts recruited relatively quickly. Ways of working, processes, shared expertise and trust between people take longer to build. This is why the organisation itself must also continue to evolve.
The same long-term approach applies to customer projects. In industrial projects with long design and production cycles, it can take years to move from the first design phase to the start of serial production. Achieving results requires patience both in Meconet’s own development and in cooperation with customers.
Looking ahead to the next stage
Reaching EUR 100 million in revenue is an important milestone for Meconet, but it is not the end goal. The company aims to continue expanding its international business in the coming years. At the same time, it is essential to maintain the ways of working that have formed the foundation of its success so far.
“For us, size itself is not the goal. The agility of an SME is a competitive advantage we want to preserve. At the same time, we need to grow so that we are strong enough to invest, expand internationally and serve world-class customers. That is the direction we are taking in the years ahead as well,” Kuismin says.
