Pihtipudas – Competence Centre for Spring Manufacturing

Our Pihtipudas plant is specialised in manufacture of springs and wire forms for demanding industrial applications. It is a cornerstone of our production network that serves customers in need of reliable and accurately dimensioned spring solutions.

At Pihtipudas, we manufacture springs from prototypes to serial production, always according to the requirements of the intended use. In recent years, we have invested extensively in spring production, which is reflected in expanded manufacturing capacities and improved supply capability.

The springs and wire forms manufactured at Pihtipudas are designed to withstand tough loads and operating conditions.

Support from design to production

The functionality of a spring is determined already in the design stage. We help our customers with spring dimensioning, material selection, and technical solutions to make sure the outcome functions reliably in use.

We make prototypes and small series to support product development, based on which the production can be smoothly scaled up to serial production.

In spring manufacture, precision, repeatability, and material management play a key role. At the Pihtipudas plant, our modern and constantly updated machine fleet is enhanced by strong practical expertise.

Our skills are particularly evident in the ability to solve challenging manufacturing situations and utilize the capabilities of machines in a creative manner. This is the key to cost-effective solutions even in demanding cases.

Aftertreatments and testing are applied to ensure the performance, durability, and quality of our springs.

Part of a common production network

The Pihtipudas plant engages in close co-operation, especially with the Vantaa plant. The Pihtipudas plant focuses on manufacture of customized springs, while finished standard springs are stored at Vantaa.  More than 8,000 different ready-made products can be ordered over the online Spring Store. Both units also offer product design support. 

Co-operation with our other plants in Finland and Estonia is fluent as well. By combining the expertise of different plants, we can offer customers complete solutions in which springs are part of a broader manufacturing and assembly package.
