We have conceptualised an Innovation Day event for our key customers; the participants can acquire a deeper understanding of our operations and discuss their own design challenges. The event has been designed especially for the sourcing and design personnel of our customers working in close cooperation with us.
The event will take place over two half-days. At the Innovation Day, it will be demonstrated in theory and practice how our customers could make even better use of Meconet’s know-how and technological possibilities. However, it is also important to discuss what kind of boundary conditions must be established for product design so that production becomes possible and extra costs are avoided.
Concrete added value to business
Innovation Day is our way to achieving a closer and deeper customer relationship. The better is the mutual understanding between us and our customers, the more added value we can offer. If cooperation is started in an early design stage, this guarantees an outcome allowing the customer to save time, money and the environment.
In addition to improved knowledge, Innovation Day offers an opportunity for networking with Meconet’s various experts. The elaborated presentations can be tailored customer-specifically, to meet the exact requirements and challenges of the customer in question. Among other things, we will look into prototyping, stamping techniques, spring product presentation, deep drawing, customised manufacturing cells, and manual/automatic assembly, as well as demonstrate how simulation can be used in optimisation of shapes.
Innovation Day is aimed at customers interested in deepening their cooperation with Meconet and prepared to consider design tips for rational and cost-effective manufacturing of their products.
Valmet’s Innovation Day was a comprehensive event
Meconet arranged an Innovation Day event for Valmet Automotive at the beginning of 2024. Design and sourcing experts from Valmet attended.
– For us, it was very interesting to hear and see what kind of added value we could achieve for our production, especially as regards deep drawing. The event offered a comprehensive and in-depth overview of the various manufacturing processes and opened our eyes to new possibilities in our business, says Kalle Aaltonen, Valmet’s Senior Sourcing Engineer.
“For us, the comprehensive presentation of the deep drawing technology was an especially interesting lesson.”
– The programme of the event was diverse: theory and practice in the right proportion, as well as more relaxed spending time together. For us, the comprehensive presentation of the deep drawing technology was an especially interesting lesson. Our designers gained valuable insights into the development of the maintenance-friendliness of our products and the various possibilities offered by deep drawing.
Although Valmet’s Innovation Day was mainly focused on deep drawing, other technologies were also looked into at the event. For example, it was demonstrated to the visitors how various components could be developed through simulation.
– The Innovation Day gave us a comprehensive overview of Meconet’s expertise and the possibilities offered, which we intend to utilise even better in the future, Aaltonen says.
