Meconet, a longstanding family business, has always placed a strong emphasis on social responsibility throughout its history. For us, responsibility is not merely a trend or a requirement. While legislation provides a solid foundation, at Meconet, we strive to exceed these standards by continually developing our responsibility in collaboration with our customers, employees, and partners.
Reliability as the foundation of social responsibility
Our customers have high expectations. They want assurance that we act responsibly at every level, including our approach to social responsibility. We are fully prepared to meet these expectations. Even though the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) does not yet apply to us, for several years now, we have been proactively developing and implementing responsibility models covering not only economic and environmental aspects, but also social responsibility. For our customers, this means that they can rely on Meconet as a trustworthy and responsible partner in all respects.

Focus on personnel – from well-being at work to maintaining working capacity
At Meconet, employee well-being is at the heart of our social responsibility. We work closely with our employees to develop processes that support workplace well-being, safety, and working capacity. We pay special attention to our ability to offer flexible solutions tailored to different life and career stages. This means concrete actions, such as flexible working hours and training opportunities.

Ever since the early 2000s, we have conducted annual employee satisfaction surveys to regularly assess workplace morale and gather valuable feedback for continuous improvement of our operations. We have established a whistleblowing process and reporting channels that allow employees and stakeholders to anonymously report potential cases of harassment, inappropriate treatment, or other issues.
Leadership development as a continuous process
We strongly believe in that good leadership is crucial for employee well-being and satisfaction. This has also come up in personnel surveys. To support this, we have made significant investments in leadership development, and the entire management of Meconet has completed a comprehensive training programme. Our goal is to create a fair and inclusive management culture that that enhances both daily operations and employee well-being. While leadership is never perfect, we remain committed to continuous improvement.
Social responsibility in strategy and everyday life
Meconet’s strategy is deeply rooted in personnel involvement. We value our employees’ voice and integrate their perspectives into all aspects of our operations. This commitment is evident in our strategic planning, where we actively seek insights from all personnel. By doing so, we ensure that the best possible outcome can be achieved together.
Training and development of personnel are Meconet’s top priorities. To ensure a safe working environment, we invest in safety training. We have introduced a comprehensive digital training platform to provide our employees with opportunities for continuous professional growth. We view online training as a valuable fringe benefit that helps employees develop their skills, both at work and in their free time. Additionally, we foster a culture of knowledge-sharing within our team, encouraging employees to learn from one another.

Meconet maintains a close and ongoing collaboration with occupational health care. Together with our healthcare partners and employees, we continuously develop ways to support the working capacity and well-being of our employees, recognizing that occupational safety is a daily priority in the manufacturing industry. Our goal is to develop and utilise management tools that proactively promote employee well-being. Addressing potential issues related to working capacity in a timely manner—and ideally preventing them before they arise—is in everyone’s best interest.
As an employer, we take great responsibility for our employees. Our goal is to ensure the continuity of our business while retaining our skilled personnel. However, the challenging economic situation in the world has sometimes required us to make difficult decisions, including change negotiations. We are committed to managing these changes with respect and fairness. In difficult situations, the support provided by both the team and supervisors plays a crucial role.
Responsibility throughout the supply chain
Social responsibility at Meconet extends beyond our own operations to include our partners as well. We have developed supplier responsibility processes and strive to support our cooperation partners on responsibility issues through training and open dialogue. This is an important part of Meconet’s all-inclusive approach, ensuring that responsibility is visible both internally and externally.
Looking ahead, social responsibility will only become more important. Our customers, employees, and partners can rest assured that responsibility is at the very core of Meconet’s operations – now and in the future.
