This summer, Meconet once again has the pleasure of employing a number of summer employees. We hereby introduce three of them. Let’s get to know Aaro Tikander, Valmir Maloku, and Mark Fetka a little better.
Doing thesis work
Aaro Tikander (27) is finishing his studies at the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. He will graduate as a Master of Science (Tech.) by the end of the year and is doing summer work at Meconet for the third time. Aaro has previously worked as a Mechanical Designer and is now engaged in drafting work instructions for production machinery at Meconet. Aaro’s thesis deals with the same subject, which results in synergy between his studies and work.
“Meconet has always trusted in me and provided opportunities. If you are motivated and willing to learn, you will be given support and options here”, Aaro says. He especially appreciates that personal space for development and self-fulfilment is provided at Meconet, which renders the work environment very positive.
Career change in mind
Valmir Maloku (34) is originally from Kosovo and moved to Finland with his family in 1992. Valmir studied storekeeping at the Turku Vocational Institute. He has extensive experience in the logistics industry and has worked, for example, at Onninen’s wholesale warehouse where he also did some sales work. Valmir has joined Meconet in search of new challenges; he works with multislide tools and occasionally at the assembly department.
“I wanted new challenges and Meconet provided an opportunity for this. The team is really good, they help with everything you ask,” says Valmir. He particularly praises the relaxed but efficient work culture and the helpful attitude of experienced employees.
After graduation
Mark Fetka (22) graduated as a Process Operator about a year ago. After graduation, Mark worked at another job, but soon decided to change his career. At Meconet, he started working on the presses some three weeks ago, and is excited about the new challenges. Mark is from Helsinki and ended up at Meconet by following up on a job advertisement.
“The work is physically demanding, but also truly rewarding. My colleagues are great and always ready to help with all kinds of things,” says Mark. He especially appreciates the team spirit at the workplace and the versatile tasks that constantly offer new possibilities for learning.
