Meconet has established a new subsidiary, Meconet GmbH, in Germany. Markku Kuismin, Director, Client Relations & Sales at Meconet Oy, has been appointed the subsidiary’s CEO. Niklas Mäkinen, Account Manager, has also started working for the new Munich-based company opened in May.

Meconet has many customers in Central Europe, particularly in southern Germany, and its foothold in the region keeps getting stronger. Munich is easily accessible from all over Europe, including Finland. With Meconet GmbH, our presence in Central Europe and keeping in touch with our customers is facilitated and intensified. In the new company, Niklas Mäkinen’s job consists in developing customer relations and improving customer satisfaction. In addition to Mäkinen, Tomi Ropanen has been taking care of Central European customers from Switzerland for many years.
An important strategic development step
In accordance with Meconet’s growth strategy, the company aims to achieve a turnover of €100M in the current strategy period. The Central European market is especially important for this. The local culture and close customer relationships are of special significance in Germany. Furthermore, Meconet’s operating model is based on close co-operation with the customers already from the design stage.

“Even though functional remote connections are important, it is also good to be close to the customer. Finland has a good reputation in Germany and many Finnish companies have found success there. We want to find new customers, especially from the greentech sector in Central Europe. We believe that Meconet has something to offer, including contributions to renewable energy systems and electric mobility solutions, Kuismin says.
